For academic purposes, students take PTE Academic.

• PTE Academic: PTE Academic scores open doors to 3,000+ universities, colleges, and professional bodies globally, including Oxford University, Harvard Business School, and Macquarie University. It is also approved for all UK, Australian, and New Zealand visa and immigration categories.

There are other PTE tests offered by Pearson for PTE, such as PTE Core and UK Visa Tests.

• PTE Core: A general English test, recognized by the Canadian government for migration and work visa applications and for permanent residency.
• UK Visa Tests: Secure English Language Test (SELT). SELT tests for visa applications to work, join family, and settle in the UK. Includes PTE Home tests and PTE Academic UKVI.
